Karl Kwekel worked with pen and ink before making the move to watercolors, studying at the Academy of T&E. His background of black and white drawing was foundational for his work in color with his contrasts of light and dark and subtlety of shading. He paints landscapes, animals, character studies, and portraits by commission.
